Day 12 May 29 2022 Olympic park day 3 of 4

Today we got a start at 8:30 and went to Marymere Falls and Crescent Lake. The day is clearer and we're hoping to maybe go back up to Hurricane Ridge and see the views that people have been talking about. We took a little time to see the lake and then took the one and a half mile trail up to the falls.

Most of the trail was gently climbing and lovely manicured trail. We first went under the road in a harmonic tunnel.

The last 800 feet was stairs up to the falls.

We hiked through a lovely primeval forest.
I thought we should see a stegosaurus coming by to say hi.

On the way back down, we took a side trail to the lodge and another one, the "Moments in time" trail.

We ended up back at our van, and Paul expertly navigated us out of the parking space now that the whole parking lot was full. Now we can follow the road around Crescent Lake up to Sol Duc Valley.

The clouds and drizzle at return so we're not going up to Hurricane Ridge today.

We drove up to the Sol Duc Valley. Stopped at Salmon Cascades, but did not see any fish, but the rough water was impressive.

I feel sorry for the fish that must struggle back up here. The temperature dropped to 47 so we didn't stay out long. We drove to the end of the road and turned around. It is intermittently raining and drizzling.

The lake is choppy and covered in clouds and drizzle

We came into Port Angeles for lunch at the wharf. It is very windy. We gave our bud a walk and set out to see the sites. Lots of murals and met Roctopus.

Once back at our campsite, I made doggie food, and Paul hooked the astroturf step cover on the step. Braun went to relax in the sunshine. What a handsome dog.

Then I got to zoom with my friends
