Day 2 May 19 2022 To Pollock Pines
Good-by Clarke's! It as a lovely visit.
Good morning world, it's a 418 mile day! We tried to get an early start. It's about 65 mi to San Luis Obispo, and unfortunately, Donna said she's not feeling well and won't be joining us for breakfast. Will stop by at another trip.
Now just golden hills. Some cows... Very windy... Then poof our check engine light came on after we got fuel. We aren't hot, have plenty of DEF, oil, and fuel.
I looked up common causes for the check engine light, and the first one was a loose fuel cap. Ours was about a quarter inch from tight, but enough to break the vacuum. We tightened it. Seems to be driving fine, but light didn't go away. Paul wants to stop in Fresno to get it checked.
We called the dealer in Fresno, who was not very helpful, and said they would be going to lunch soon and would not be able to read the codes for it until after lunch, and oh by the way, that will be $250. I had the brilliant idea to find an auto parts store, because some of them will read the code for free. We met a nice young man, Bret, in Lemoore at the O'Riley Auto Parts store. He read the codes, there was nothing wrong. He is not allowed to clear the codes. So we bought ourselves a code reader, and Paul cleared the code. Yea! Back on the road.
Travel was peaceful and we didn't get any more trees until we were east of Sacramento. Braun spent some time in the back, and some on the bed.
Our little campground, Ghost Mountain Ranch, is way back in the woods. Very cool. A long way on step winding roads. The spaces are small and not very level, but it is absolutely gorgeous. They have a dump station, but not on each site. There is 30 amp service and fresh water at each site. There is an ice cream shop we will have to visit tomorrow.
We took a walk around the campground and got about 7000 steps. We were not planning on having TV or WiFi, but the TV works. It was a very long day. We love it here.
