Day 3 May 20 2022 in Pollock Pines

Crisp, clear morning! I got up at 6:30, like always, and Braun and I went for a walk around the camp ground, greeting all the early risers. The wind is pretty fierce. The news said gusts of 50 mph and high fire danger. Fire would blow thru here so quickly. We like our little campsite.

We went hiking around the little lake, down a really big steep hill, and I was not sure I could get back up, and then down around a fire road. Paul was able to lead us back another way and we came back to the campground.

Then rest, lunch, and over to experience the ice cream shop.

It was a bit sparse on flavors, only chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and rainbow sherbet. They did have hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry though. I had a single, so did Braun. Paul had a double.

We came back to the RV and played movie trivia for a couple hours at our lovely little table. Braun was content to rest calmly by us. Later we took another walk and I got to 13k steps. We got to talk with the park owners who were applying a coat of polyurethane to a shelf in the restaurant and lounge that opens tomorrow. He also explained how the Coast-To-Coast membership we have works.

Back at the RV, we showered and watched Chicago and Argo as our evening entertainment. The park is expecting more than 10 trailers yet to come in tonight, so we expect it to get noisy. Tomorrow we stop at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area on the way to Yreka.
